Skills In Demand (Subclass 482)
Australia is one of the most popular and first countries to accommodate migrants from around the world. It has a lot to offer, from beaches to rainforests, cities, and more. Aside from the country’s beauty, the people are friendly, welcoming, and open, and career opportunities are endless. So, if you have some skills and are considering immigrating to Australia, the country could be perfect for you.
The Skills in Demand visa (Subclass 482) supports businesses in addressing workforce needs while providing skilled professionals with the opportunity to live and work in Australia. It is generally granted for up to four years, or up to five years for eligible Hong Kong passport holders.
The Skills in Demand Visa is available through three streams:
- Core Skills Stream
- Specialist Skills Stream
- Labour Agreement Stream
Applicants must be nominated by an eligible Australian employer and satisfy the requirements of the relevant visa stream. Besides, they would need a valid skill assessment from the Australian Government or a nominated assessing authority to enter Australia on a Skills In Demand visa.
Eligible visa holders may also be able to obtain permanent residency by meeting the requirements of the relevant permanent visa pathway.
Furthermore, eligible family members of Subclass 482 visa holders can apply as Subsequent Entrants to join the primary visa holder in Australia.
What Does the Skills in Demand (SID) Visa (Subclass 482) Cover?
